Crazy For Tea Time

Tuesday, August 1, 2017

Well hellooooo my Little Hot Cuppas. Thank you so much for visiting my blog - I really appreciate your feedback. As you can see, I'm playing with font size. I think the text is my first post was a little too small.

So...this blog is more about pets than about tea. One of our friends is in the hospital and we've been watching her sweet pup for her. Sheffield has stayed with us before and, I must say, he is quite a gracious house guest. He eats treats, romps in the yard, enjoys belly scratches and sleeps on our couch with nary a complaint. Such a well-raised pup.

Sheffield, having a good sniff  'round the garden.

Our furry house guest made me think of a couple of teapots I haven't used for some time...

This is a German "Erphila" terrier teapot. It's close to 100 year old (wowzers!) I got it because it reminded me of our beloved wire-haired fox terrier, Penny Palooza. (Although Penny was always smiling. This pup looks a little cranky. Maybe she needs more cookies. Don't we all?) We had Penny for 16 joyous years - and it wasn't long enough.

This is "Toby" from "Punch & Judy" by Tony Woods and it's about 40 years old (a mere puppy). Although I think Toby was a Jack Russell, it also reminds me of our dear Penny .

And here's dear, sweet Penny Palooza at her 10th birthday party. Yes, we threw her a birthday party - we're "those" people. Can you see the teapot resemblance?

I'd love to see your comments about your own beloved pets (and anything else that's on your mind).
Thanks so much for taking the time to read my second blog!

Have a super fabby day!

Well...this is my very first post on my very first blog. Whaddaya think of that? Have you noticed that most blog designs have tiny little profile pictures? Well this one is no exception. So, here I am in all my glory (or at least most of it), sporting my Wonder Woman apron while cooking a big meal for friends in my little kitchen. Ah, the good life.

There are two things that I particularly like about this picture. First: the pile of bacon I'm about to cook (trust me - I ate my share of it). Second: the pert bosom on my apron. (A middle-aged gal needs all the help she can get.) But I digress...

Several years ago my husband, Dear Daniel, suggested that I start an afternoon tea page. I was going through a particularly difficult transition in my life, and he thought it would be a positive outlet for me since afternoon tea is one of my favorite things to enjoy. As usual, Dear Daniel was right. So without further ado, here's a picture of one of my fabulous tea & toast sets:

It's "Enchanted" by Royal Albert. A truly lovely pattern. I'll be sharing many more pictures of my copious china collection and some wonderful afternoon teas with friends and families. If that's your "cup of tea," I hope to see you again soon.
